Verdict

MONITION represents last year’s winning yard and looks to have leading claims. Gordon Elliott’s charge gets first-time blinkers having placed here the last twice including in a handicap on his latest start and can open his account if the headgear has the desired effect. He’s preferred to stablemate Everybreathyoutake despite Davy Russell’s presence on the latter while Black Market finished behind the selection in a maiden here last month. Willie Mullins’ Poker D'Ainay is getting steadily closer and looks a threat after finishing runner-up at Tipperary while winning pointer Blue Markie makes his hurdling debut having finished fourth in a bumper here. Orena Bay was engaged here yesterday.
