The veteran Space Cadet won this gruelling test back in 2020 but hasn't scored subsequently. At the opposite end of the handicap, THE JAM MAN hasn't won since November of that year but has run some very good race in tough company and Aidan Kelly's claim is a massive plus. Gordon Elliot has three entries with Punitive and Fakiera, 1-2 at Fairyhouse in December, taking on very strong opposition in recent starts. The latter remark also applies to Malina Girl, who ran in Grade 2 races after scoring easily at Fairyhouse. Mercury Lane came good for the first time over fences at Wexford but this looks a stronger race and My Design, a smart hurdler, may not have the experience for this after just two runs over fences.
