Verdict

Davy Russell has been in unstoppable form over the past couple of weeks and his supporters will be hoping he can galvanise BELLE BROOK into the form that saw her finish a close second to Our Girl Salley in a Listed contest over this trip at Fairyhouse last month. Michael Cullen's mare was well backed for a novice hurdle at Clonmel a couple of weeks later but ran disappointingly and will need to put that run behind her to get back to winning ways. Miss Franklin produced the shock of the season when making all for a 100/1 victory over 2m4f at Bangor. She had shown nothing previously but a breathing operation has obviously had the desired effect. Three Monkeys also provided a major surprise when leaving previous hurdling form well behind and landing a maiden at Tramore. However, the victory owed much to an opportunistic piece of riding as she was allowed a very soft lead. Winning point-to-pointer Streamtown raced over 3m2f at Catterick last time and is likely to find this on the short side.
