In depth

Verdict

Ard Na Carraig arrives here after a hard-fought victory between the flags at Ballysteen last month. BOSCO DI ALCO ran well for a long way in a much better race than this at Punchestown and normal progress can see Liz Doyle's grey gain his first success. He holds Red Giant on that run though Noel Meade's charge had produced a much better effort in the same race a year earlier. Jimmy Breekie has progressed with each run and wasn't beaten far by Gibbes Bay at Ayr while Two In One didn't get the run of the race at Roscommon earlier this month or would have finished closer.
