In depth

Verdict

HOWTH, closely related to three two-year-old winners, can get off the mark. Beaten over six lengths by Celtic Times at Leopardstown, he got much closer to that winner at Tipperary and normal progress should see him take this. Ultramarine was headed on the post when conceding 5lb to the winner at Fairyhouse while Glengarra was beaten a neck at the same fixture. They had earlier met at the Curragh in the race won by Beauty Inspire when separated by a neck and the former can reverse the form here. Obdurate was last of six on his debut at Naas but wasn't beaten far and should improve.
