Maple Valley Gold completed a double in a point-to-point and a maiden hurdle but may be better suited by quicker ground, a remark that also applies to Ultra Light who may do better when returning to fences. Barney King is the only one of these with a course and distance victory to his credit though that was a very long time ago and Brian The Warrior is still a maiden after 31 career starts, all but 10 over hurdles. Solidago's form figures look better than the reality as he's been well beaten at Musselburgh in his last couple of starts and he's another who could do with the ground drying out. JIM BOWIE doesn't have much to recommend him though his last two runs were over fences and his previous race behind the in-form Getoutwhenyoucan at Naas suggests he could just be good enough in a poor contest.
