TARABIYN showed little in two starts as a two-year-old and on his hurdling debut but it was a different matter at Ballinrobe in September where he won with his head in his chest. He'll do even better on this sort of ground and will take some beating. Ruby chooses him over Verawal, who was a very impressive debut winner here in August and went to Listowel a couple of weeks later as an odds-on chance but produced a very disappointing effort behind Celtic Artisan. Atan had shown only moderate form on the Flat but was well supported on his hurdling bow at Roscommon and won with more in hand than the official margin suggests. Bay Hill, who finished fifth, has subsequently won on the Flat and over hurdles at Gowran. Dai Bando had steadily improved on the level and came in for strong support on his debut over timber at Punchestown where he defied inexperience and a last-flight error to win convincingly. High Expectations was sent to Perth to make a successful hurdling debut but had no answer when attempting to concede 7lb to Sinndar's Man on his next start at the track though the winner looks useful. Batchelors Walk hasn't been beaten far behind Bay Hill and Dai Bando and though looking exposed it would be no surprise to see him in the firing line on better terms. Sophie's World has won a couple of decent handicaps on the Flat this year and is closely related to several decent jumpers so could be a newcomer to watch.
