Mia's Boy has been in fine form of late on the all-weather with two victories and with race fitnesss not a worry, he is selected with Capable Guest, Crocodile Bay and Red Somerset the biggest dangers. While both Mia's Boys' victories were achieved in small runner fields, there was alot to like about the manner in which he went about his race. Ground conditions should not be a problem and although the draw should not prove too significant, he is positioned against the rail in one, that being an added advantage. Capable Guest was collared in the closing stages at Pontefract on Tuesday by what was possibly a well handicapped horse in Collateral Damage. The visor was re-applied in that contest and being a horse that takes his racing well he should be capable of putting up a good show. Crocodile Bay has not got the benefit of a recent outing and suffered for his admirable consistency throughout last years turf season. He does have a tendancy to race quite keenly which would be another worry on his seasonal debut but he deserves respect hailing from a yard that does well here. Red Somerset finished last season in style with a Nottingham win, recieving an 8lb hike for that. He does prefer to hear his hooves rattle so he is probably best watched until the ground dries out further. Mia's Boy, with the benefit of recent outings and victories to boot is the selection.
