A fully exposed bunch do battle here and it is really a question of who's turn it will be today, and we will side with Circuit Dancer. Dandy Nicholls' gelding was only just held at Ayr last time with trip and ground similar to today's. The yard continues to go well and from what is still a competitive mark he can prevail today. John Keats has had a decent June, winning at Thirsk a couple of starts ago and running with credit under a penalty last time but looks in the handicapper's grip now. Punching comes here chasing a hat-trick after winning a seller and then a handicap. This is tougher again and he seems a bit more at home on slightly slower ground so we will oppose. C&d scorer Charles Darwin landed his race on similar ground and would not have been suited by the softer conditions last time. Back on a quicker surface he is one to take seriously. Bel Cantor can be competitive from this mark but needs a drop of rain before the off, and don't be surprised to see High Curragh get heavily involved with his optimum conditions, but we prefer the claims of Circuit Dancer.
