In depth

Verdict

A huge field for modest prize money including several three-year-olds from powerful Newmarket stables. Strawberry Rock would have solid claims if turning up but was engaged yesterday at Ripon. Nashy played up before the start at Haydock and probably didn’t handle the soft ground. The going was also a legitimate excuse last time for RED FOR ALL and Ed Dunlop’s maiden will be much happier on this surface. Maqtal looks to be running into form and is now blinkered and it’s too soon to write off Photograph. The hat-trick seeking Zihaam looks the pick of the older horses ahead of Howzer Black and Let Rip.
