        Verdict

        Father Bertie has been in cracking form but all of his form has been at a mile or shorter and he may struggle to stay this far. Classic Collection didn't make his reappearance until Windsor earlier this month, where he only found one too good. Any improvement on that will see him bang in the picture but Laurence's run at Newbury again suggested he's at his best of quicker going. Newera beat Cyril at Haydock in July but has been beaten twice since and is still climbing the weights. WHEAT SHEAF is probably worth another try over this trip given he just failed to overhaul the well-handicapped Revolutionist over an extended mile at Wolverhampton 10 days ago - he races off the same mark here. Pacify is tough but will probably find at least a couple too good again as he's getting no help from the assessor.
