Some decent form on offer in this concluding maiden and narrow preference is for AKMAL ahead of Haljafera and Darley Sun. John Dunlop's Selkirk gelding comes here on the back of a pleasing reappearance at Leicester where he was second to Bin End despite being un-fancied at 16/1. He is expected to improve both for that run and also for this longer trip and he is nominated accordingly. The sole filly in the line-up is Chilly Filly representing Mark Johnston. She was a beaten favourite when last seen and given that he is now winless in six starts, she is starting to get frustrating to follow. Shemoli is open to improvement as he stepped up on his debut run at Newmarket behind Redwood when second to Lively Fling recently at Leicester; his trainer is in good form and has a good record here. Haljafera let down backers when last seen and has been given a break since, Darley Sun is dropped in class as he steps up in trip, whilst Lombok has only had the one start and as his pedigree suggest, this brother to Asian Heights will be more at home over this trip. An exciting maiden and one which can go the way of Akmal.
