There are more appealing opportunities later in the card than this intriguing opener. At least half a dozen showed enough on debut to suggest they'll progress here, notably Goodwood third, Crystal Malt and Lashkaal, who looked incredibly green on debut at Newmarket before getting the hang of things all too late. A better effort is anticipated for a yard that does well at this venue. However, there are also a number of interesting debutantes on show, highlighted by Strong Flame, Hannon second string Nufooth and Azamaara but we'll take a hopeful punt on Godolphin's Iffraaj filly, ADELASIA. It's possibly significant that Buick takes the ride on this newcomer in preference to Winter Queen who already has a run on the board. Ultimately this is a race to watch though with an eye to the future with the market likely to be informative.
