WINDSOR AVENUE has looked a natural over fences in his two runs to date. He steps up half-a-mile here but this is a relatively easy course and he may have the legs of stout stayer Sam Spinner, who is also 2-2 over fences but doesn’t normally do anything in a hurry. Aye Right hasn’t done much wrong since going chasing but is up against a couple of smart novices here.
Aye Right (IRE) 2-1fav (11-6) Led, headed before 2 out, rallied before last, chance run-in, held towards finish, 2nd of 9, 1 1/2l behind Bordeaux Bill (10-9) at Carlisle 2m 4f hcp (2) sft in Nov.
Sam Spinner 8-13fav (11-10) Jumped right on occasions, made all, stretched on before 7th, hit 13th, pushed along and stayed on well run-in, unchallenged, won at Wetherby 3m (4) gs in Nov beating Ardlethen (11-10) by 4l, 5 ran.
Windsor Avenue (IRE) 6-5 (11-7) Made all, ridden approaching last, ran on, won at Carlisle 2m 4f (3) sft in Nov beating Ballymoy (11-2) by 12l, 5 ran.
