Verdict

Simon Crisford’s yard remains in fine form and had a winner here on Wednesday. SAROOG looks the one to beat in this despite a further 6lb rise given he beat a subsequent winner over 1m6f at Newmarket to land a double having won at Ascot before that. Little separated Sleeping Lion and Charles Kingsley over 2m at York last month when Bartholomeu Dias was well beaten with Mark Johnson’s charge preferred over today’s shorter trip while Genetics ran below par at the same track last time and attempts today’s longer distance for the first time. Theglasgowwarrior is not badly treated back on faster ground today though tends to save his best for Hamilton.
