In depth

Verdict

Another wide open affair rounds off proceedings. River City won in impressive style last time out when defeating Aquarius and a reproduction of that form would see him go close despite his penalty. Zoffany won well on his hurdling debut at Haydock. The gelding from the Martin Todhunter yard is sure to have benefited from the experience but this looks more competitive and he may struggle under his penalty. Spud One has won and been second in a bumpers. He is sure to have been well schooled and the booking of McCoy catches the eye and any market confidence could be significant. Business Class is a chase winner who took a crashing fall last time out and he is probably having this run over hurdles as a confidence booster. Phar Breeze would have a chance on his best form but he was very disappointing at Market Rasen last time out. Ocean Dancer has shown a modicum of ability but he needs to improve to take a hand in the finish. Roddy The Vet won a bumper in Ireland and any market move should be heeded. The remainder need to improve on all known form to take a hand in the finish.
