led, ridden 2f out, headed inside final furlong, stayed on
mid-division, ridden over 4f out, weakened over 2f out, soon eased
always behind
soon chasing leader, ridden halfway, weakening when not much room 2f out
slowly into stride, towards rear, ridden and headway over 2f out, weakened over 1f out
always behind
chased leaders, ridden over 2f out, one-paced final furlong
in touch, ridden halfway, soon weakened
tracked leaders, ridden over 3f out, weakened over 1f out
mid-division, headway halfway, ridden over 2f out, led inside final furlong, ran on
always towards rear, never dangerous
This looks an exceptionally competitive handicap in which not many of the field can be ruled out with any confidence. Te Quiero is on a hat trick, loves Wolverhampton and will no doubt make a bold bid to force the race from the front. However, Bressbee made all to win last time in a smart time, and there is a chance the front-runners here could cut each other's throats. Devolution is capable of picking them off in the straight but his all-weather form has all been on polytrack and it remains to be seen whether he will take to this surface. So TEAMtalk gives a tentative vote to Elheba, who finished behind Bressbee on but is now 11 pounds better off with that rival. He was returning from a two month break on that occasion, and had won five times at this track last winter, so there is a chance he could come on for the run and pick the leaders off inside the final furlong here.
