Verdict

Sir Chauvelin just got the better of Dark Jedi over a similar trip at Musselburgh last month and confirmed the form when second at Hamilton but the latter is better off at the weights today and also in decent form. Hms President is another who can nearly always be relied on to run his race and Themaxwecan beat Going Gone over 2m at Ascot, though tends to struggle if soft is mentioned in the going description. Haliphon won at York and Chester in the summer but has looked in the handicapper’s grip since. Wise Eagle steps up in class but the improving INCHICORE has been competing in tougher races than this and scored over a similar distance at Goodwood on her penultimate start.
