Cape, Ice Planet, and Pusey Street Lady are the trio to look at here, with Cape, the mount of Jamie Spencer, a speculative selection to come out on top. At 1,000 guineas, Pusey Street Lady is a terrific bargain, and she turned in her best performance to date when trouncing a seventeen runner field over this course and distance on her re-appearance. She has gone up ten pounds for that win but cannot be discounted. Ice Planet ran some fine races in defeat last season in competitive races and is only two pounds higher than when last successful in June. He can go well but is likely to come on for his first run of the season. Cape was only beaten a length and a half in a Listed affair last time, but that was six months ago. However, he is re-united with Jamie Spencer who rode him to his last success two years ago. He has conditions to suit, and the booking of Spencer suggests he is ready to run well despite this being his re-appearance. Cape can prove too big an obstacle for his opponents.
