In depth

Verdict

A tricky race to fathom but, Sergeant Cecil has been banging on the door lately and is selected to gain some sort of revenge on Luca Cumani for his Goodwood defeat by edging out the improving Lost Soldier Three. There are a number of the others that hold claims and money for Yoksha, Star Member or Midas Way, could reap dividends for each-way backers, while Supremacy has got to be respected as he drops in class and, in truth, will find this level of competition more to his liking after being found out in Group and Listed races in his last two starts. He does however, have to give a fair amount of weight away today and will do very well to prevail on these terms. Conversely Lost soldier Three and Yoksha have featherweights to carry and will be very hard to get past if they run up to their recent level. Nevertheless Sergeant Cecil is proving to be a very reliable character in this sort of race and it is his battle hardened resilience that swings the vote in his favour for us this afternoon.
