In depth

Verdict

Bashful has been gelded since winning over 1m4f at Kempton in October. Lifetime Legend finished second on debut at Wetherby but was more than four lengths behind REWIRED at Huntingdon last month and Richard Newland’s charge can take advantage of this drop in grade to beat Warwick runner-up Hasty Parisian, who holds Thunder Ahead on the form book. The latter’s trainer has engaged Brian Hughes to ride stablemate Vazir, who is surely better than he showed at Warwick, and Beraz won on the Flat in the French Provinces and is an interesting recruit for the Skelton team.
