A competitive renewal of the Park Hill can go to Tarakala, with Astrocharm, Echoes In Eternity and Opera Comique among a number of others that have to be considered. The vagaries attached to backing fillies and mares at this time of year have to be borne in mind when assessing these runners. However, Tarakala, Selebela and Desert Royalty all met in the Galtres Stakes last time, when the going was very soft and they finished first, second and third, respectively. On literal form, Selebela has four lengths to find on the winner, and Desert Royalty a further neck, and it will be interesting to see how they fare on this better going. Who could have foreseen the improvement that the Mystic Meg-owned Astrocharm has made this season? She comes here as the highest rated runner in the race following a Group 3 win at Goodwood last time, where she beat the Lancashire Oaks winner, Pongee, and she looks set to go well again. Echoes In Eternity won a Group 3 contest last October but, overall, has been a little disappointing this time around. She now takes a huge step up in trip and Frankie Dettori has elected to ride her from the two Godolphin runners so her presence in the field has to be of interest. Godolphin also run Opera Comique, but this lightly-raced filly has not been out since finishing sixth to Ouija Board in the Pretty Polly Stakes. However, on breeding, today's trip should very much suit her. Of the others, the beautifully-bred Modesta could yet have better to come, a similar comment applying to Light Of Morn, who is a half-sister by Daylami to Moments Of Joy. Bowstring is another to fall into the category of likely improver in a race that carries plenty of interest but, as we say, can go to Tarakala.
