HEBRIDES (NAP) shaped with distinct promise on his Newbury debut last month. He was supported into favouritism that day, only tired late on and handled the heavy ground with aplomb - all of which bodes well for the Haggas inmate now. He should improve for that run and sets a strong standard. King Alfred came home fifth in that Newbury contest, a major improvement on his debut run. He was just over a length behind the selection but had the advantage of previous experience and it's hard to see him turning the tables. Taratari and Denning are newcomers of interest, with the latter also receiving the award for the cleverest horse naming of the season.
