They often come home at wide intervals in this but it's almost 10 years since the runners had to contend with ground this quick. Litigant bids for a repeat off a 4lb higher mark but is no forlorn hope. The quicker surface won't faze Joseph Tuite's eight-year-old as he's won on good ground and Polytrack. He's been very lightly raced this season so may be fresher than most. Prize Money looks a danger, however, as he was second behind Hawkbill in a Group 3 at Ascot in June and wasn't beaten far over this trip at Goodwood when last seen. Wrangler has only won on soft going so far but was third over this course and distance on his latest start and should now be cherry-ripe. Tawdeea beat Fattsota, last year's second Buonarroti and Dashing Star at Leicester but was only third there behind Fabricate earlier. Soldier In Action was very impressive at Goodwood last month but rarely runs two races alike whereas CAPE COVA has been very consistent. Though only getting up in the shadows of the post over 1m7f here last time, he raced lazily in the early stages and wears blinkers now in an attempt to remedy the issue - he could take all the beating if they have the desired effect. Cymro may be the pick of the remainder as this is likely to be too far for Newbury specialist What About Carlo.
