Plenty of recent winners in the line-up to choose from however we will break with convention and take a punt on DANEHILLSUNDANCE who looks attractively handicapped. David Brown's gelding, a recruit from Stuart Parr's yard, now has a rating of 77, some 12lb lower than his win here in September of 2007. He has been fairly frustrating to follow since but he should have his ideal conditions today and his run last time behind Paraguay looked a bit unlucky. The latter has a rise in the weights for that win but is still open to improvement for an in-form yard, El Dececy looks to be high enough in the weights and is not the most reliable in handicap company, whilst Luck Will Come's recent win at Wolverhampton suggested that she is a mare to keep on the right side of at this time of year. Aflaam is rated better than his two starts this year, Jim Goldie's Middlemarch is shaping as if a win is on the horizon, whilst Kildare Sun tries the cheek-pieces after a run of placed efforts. Two more of the recent winners, the unexposed Alsace Lorraine and Templetouhy Max must be considered, with the former's more unexposed profile striking more of a chord and a 3lb rise for her Yarmouth win may be lenient. This looks the most competitive race on the card and we will take a chance on Danehillsundance.
