This is an intriguing little race that will probably stand up to scrutiny if the main contenders all run somewhere near their best. Barzak, Always Esteemed and the newcomer Mr Loverman add spice to the contest but Cat On A High has some rock solid form behind his name and is taken to overcome his 8lb penalty under the race conditions. His yard enjoyed a fruitful spell at Newmarket at the weekend and this looks to be a good introduction for him if he is to live up to the Group-race aspirations held for him held by his trainer. Balin's Sword needs fast ground to be at his best so Intercession may be the best value for the forecast.
