A few of these already look to be heading for the obscurity of minor handicap company and it can pay to ignore the numbers and concentrate on Unscrupulous, Band and Dawn Piper. The first named made a favourable impression in his two outings last season but has a little to prove on this drop back in trip, whereas, Dawn Piper did not look to be the most straightforward of characters on his debut at Beverley last month. However, his trainer does hold him in high regard and it would be no surprise to see him improve after that first outing. That leaves Band as the selection after a most encouraging effort at Haydock last time out. That run highlighted that he is a progressive sort and his experience at the trip can prove to be a vital tool today.
