Verdict

A Newmarket stable has won this in eight of the last nine years, including Luca Cumani in 2014 with one ridden by Andrea Atzeni. That partnership is renewed this year with COOLONGOLOOK, third here last month on his handicap debut and open to plenty of improvement. Atticus Boy has rattled up a hat-trick in lesser company but may be the type that just keeps finding enough so another 3lb rise is not insurmountable. Falmouth Light won in a higher grade here on his belated reappearance and will enjoy any give in the ground, though steps up in trip. Ad Libitum has won at Carlisle and Ripon this summer but may be a few pounds too high now.
