tracked leaders in rear, ridden over 2f out, switched right inside final furlong, stayed on to take 2nd towards finish
tracked leader, led 2f out, soon shaken up, edged left and headed inside final furlong, no extra when lost 2nd close home
led, ridden and headed 2f out, regained lead inside final furlong, driven out
Disappointingly just the three runners have been declared for this contest and it is hard to get away from Godolphin's Iguazu Falls, who gets the vote over Redolent and Gaspar Van Wittel. The last mentioned is at least fit from racing, having run second to Il Warrd in a Listed race at Kempton last month. He was highly tried as a juvenile and has to be respected but may struggle to give weight away to his two rivals. Richard Hannon's Redolent did not seem to stay the extra furlong when tried in the Fielden Stakes last month and should appreciate the return to a mile today. He has to be respected but preference is for Iguazu Falls. Goldolphin's runner showed decent form when placed in two Group 3 races at the end of last season, including latterly on a soft surface, and he looks the one to beat provided that he is fit enough for his return.
