Only one favourite has won this in the past ten years though the winner is usually well supported. Ryan Moore is due to dash from Dubai for a couple of rides for Aidan O'Brien, the first of them on board the 600,000gns yearling THE WARRIOR. He was highly tried in his first campaign and though finishing last in the Middle Park on his final start he wasn't beaten far and can start repaying some of that outlay. Witty Repartee, Approbare and Gussy Goose look best of the opposition with experience though it could be a newcomer who provides the biggest threat. Jim Bolger's New Approach colt Congressman makes a belated racecourse debut and wouldn't still be in the yard unless thought capable of producing the goods while Dermot Weld runs two and Pat Smullen's mount Mulkeyya, a half-sister to the useful Mustajeeb, is probably the pick at this stage.
