Verdict
Handicaps don't come much trickier than this and it's hardly surprising that just one favourite has won in the past nine years. Three-year-olds have an excellent record and THE GREY REBEL can enhance the statistics. David Marnane's grey is progressing at a rate of knots and followed a maiden success at Cork with a handicap victory over the minimum trip at Dundalk. He needs to improve again against older sprinters but can do so here. Maundy Money bounced back to form with a cracking victory at Listowel but that was over an extra furlong and a 5lbs rise makes life difficult. Miss Eze and Pencil Hill were both behind that day but have a chance to reverse the form on these terms over the shorter trip. Good To Follow hasn't had much racing and came with a late rattle to score over 5f here when last year's winner Toufan Express was staying on well suggesting he is primed for a repeat.
