William Haggas sends two from Newmarket with Tom Marquand on board PURPLEPAY despite riding My Astra to a spectacular victory in an Ayr Listed contest. His mount, formerly trained in France, returned there to land a Group 2 at Chantilly last time and any rain would further enhance her claims. Another UK raider, Dreamloper, is already a winner at this level having landed the Prix d’Ispahan at Longchamp and it will be a surprise if she’s not in contention. Paddy Twomey’s horses are in fine form so the fact that La Petite Coco returns from a long absence isn’t a concern and she ended the last campaign in superb form when beating the very smart Love in the Group 2 Blandford Stakes here. She looks better than the stable’s progressive Rosscarbery while Concert Hall has been mixing it with the best and running well so she could do best of the remainder.
