    Verdict

Jim Bolger has made no bones about his admiration for Parish Hall and the son of Teofilio will need to take this if he's to head for Epsom. He took a bit of time to warm up in his first season but ended with a half-length success in the Dewhurst over Power, who had earlier won the Coventry Stakes and the National Stakes. Bolger has opted to bring Parish Hall here without a prep run and he'll take some beating but the form pick is HERMIVAL. The France-trained colt will be having just his fourth start having won on heavy ground at Saint-Cloud in November before finishing a close third behind French Fifteen on his reappearance. He was again behind his compatriot in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket when they occupied the places behind Camelot and that's the stand-out form in this. John Oxx puts blinkers on Born To Sea for the first time but Johnny Murtagh has opted to ride Takar, an impressive winner of a Listed contest here earlier this month. Trumpet Major appeared to be unlucky in-running in the Dewhurst and ran a cracking race in the Guineas at Newmarket where he was always in the front rank and only faded close home.
