Verdict

Aidan O'Brien won this 11 times in succession before Adelaide River was beaten a year ago and saddles half of today's field. Chief Little Rock only scrambled home when long odds-on at Leopardstown but Grosvenor Square stayed on very strongly to score over an extended mile at Galway. Navy Seal landed the odds in easy fashion at the latter track but Paddy Twomey's Deepone has been disappointing since his early-season double. STROMBERG probably hasn't beaten much in landing a couple of minor races at Galway and Roscommon but has been very impressive and can take the step up in class in his stride.
