In depth

Verdict

Peregrine Run has been in outstanding form over fences and the race conditions suit so it will be a surprise if he's not in contention. Woodland Opera beat him narrowly over hurdles at Down Royal in August but is 5lb worse off while Doctor Duffy is progressing nicely and though taking a leap in grade his trainer wouldn't be running him unless confident of a good performance. Tombstone generally performs in top company but seems better over the minimum trip over timber and was a long way behind RASHAAN (NAP) in a Fairyhouse Grade 2 in April. The latter won this in 2017 and though not the most consistent performer would be very difficult to beat on the balance of his form. Both Chatham Street Lad and Dr Mikey are suited by the race conditions though both prefer plenty of give in the ground.
