Despite the lack of numbers this is still a competitive contest. From the same family as the high-class Storming Home, as well as French 1000 Guineas winner Musical Chimes, Desert Dreamer has something to live up to. Barry Hills' colt hasn't been disgraced, in defeat, in either of his last couple of outings and looks to face a much easier task in this, a contest won by the stable last year. Soonest hasn't done much wrong having won a couple of small races, and may be capable of improvement at this trip, but he will need to. The main threat should come from Scotch N'Dry, who has been running with plenty of credit in Nurseries, but he does need to find more if he is to trouble the selection on these terms. Waterline Blue isn't without a chance on the best of his form and actually has the beating of Scotch N'Dry, using Baltic Wave as a yardstick, but the first-time visor sets the alarm bells ringing and he is probably best watched for the time being So, from a yard with a 22% strike rate with it's juveniles, Desert Dreamer is taken to continue the fine form of the Hill's two-year-olds.
