      Verdict

Misty Birnam was engaged in the 8.50 here last night. Computable was beaten less than 2l by Acclaim The Nation at Thirsk in May and is much better off at the weights but he hasn't run as well in subsequent start unlike the winner, who has continued in good form and has the inside berth. VERNE CASTLE has won five times on the all-weather but never on Turf which is why he's on a 10lb lower mark. This looks his best chance for some time and he's handed the vote. Merry Banter is 7lb higher than her last victory but Pea Shooter, who ran well last time, is drawn out wide.
