Verdict
A trappy nursery with the weights headed by Sierra Vista, who flopped at the Ebor festival having won impressively at Thirsk on a previous racecourse appearance. On that occasion, he had Frascati five lengths behind but the filly is weighted to reverse that form today. On the face of it, Golden Nun looks to have the right credentials to win this contest but this course and distance winner will need to produce a career best as the draw of ten is far from helpful. Monte Verde is potentially the dark horse in the field. Now qualified for handicaps, she ran well enough behind El Coto at Leicester but was never entitled to finish close up to smart sorts, Hurricane Alan and Never a Doubt at Bath last time out. Given a mark of 67, Bryn Palling's filly could be well-treated. Midnight Special is still a maiden after a string of consistent efforts in moderate company while Rowan Express has disappointed in selling grade. Alan Bailey rarely lets a Chester meeting pass without sending out a winner and Good Health is given the Teamtalk nod from stall three. The Magic Ring filly really appreciates fast ground and today represents a drop in class from recent outings.
