Few runners here but many chances held. Laidlow is anticipated to regain the winning thread at the expense of Sir Edwin Landseer and Crafty Calling. Laidlow was sent off as second-favourite behind Trade Fair in the King Charles II Stakes earlier in the season and while it is true that his recent form has been disappointing; his stable are in form and the horse is likely to have improved for further racecourse experience. Sir Edwin Landseer has had plenty of racing this term and should not want for match fitness. Conditions races look to be his route these days as his handicap mark looks none-too-generous. He is yet to prove he stays this far but if a tactical race ensues there is every chance he will get the trip today. Sir Michael Stoute should have a line of form on Crafty Calling. He finished behind Adekshan at Leicester in a race that hasn't really worked out since. Lago D'Orta is respected but has a couple of pounds to find. Marching Band is watched on reappearance while Eagles In The Wind should give his owners a good day out. Laidlow is selected in an intriguing looking Classified stakes.
