Verdict
Barbill never figured in the Stewards’ Cup but this is easier while RECON MISSION never recovered from an early stumble over the minimum trip at Goodwood last time. This return to 6f will suit having won off today’s mark at York last summer and Tony Carroll’s charge could go close. Rayong won over 5f at Pontefract last month but Brad The Brief is preferred back in a handicap having beaten Byline at Haydock when completing a hat-trick. Gabrial The Devil will be sharper for a recent comeback and makes more appeal than stablemate Gabrial The Saint. Danzan, Call Me Ginger and Dave Dexter are others to consider though the latter has been drawn high.
