PENWORTHAM won over a slightly longer trip here at the start of the month. An apprentice’s allowance negates a 6lb rise and means Richard Fahey’s charge can also effectively race off a lower mark than when winning last year’s renewal. He’s preferred to stablemates Rajar and Right Touch while Rousayan landed a double at Beverley with his recent victory and has the beating of both Gabrial The Tiger and Luis Vaz De Torres on that form. Calder Prince was ahead of the selection, Explain, Heir To A Throne and Call Out Loud when fourth here last month and makes more appeal than Chosen Character.
