Frankie Dettori knows what AZMEEL can do having sailed past him on Chabal at Sandown and he can steer John Gosden's colt home ahead of Dancing David, Desert Myth and Encompassing. Although he is yet to experience anything like the Roodee this Azamour colt looks a likely player on his fifth start. He (and his jockey) were caught a little flat-footed at Sandown last time when the sprint for home started but as long as he is ridden aggressively he should be hard to beat. There are plenty of potential improvers in the line-up, most notably Desert Myth. He won tidily on his debut at Newmarket and his trainer has had plenty of success in this race, however the worry must be that his inexperience will count against him at this unique track. Dancing David's second to Elusive Pimpernel in the Craven Stakes looks rock solid with the winner going on to finish fifth in the 2000 Guineas and this longer trip should be within range around here, whilst Encompassing took a while to break his maiden tag but this colt is out of a Coronation Stakes winner and has plenty of potential for improvement. Party Doctor won an egg-and-spoon race at Wolverhampton on his comeback where his trainer wanted to get him used to running around a bend. He will never be off one now trying Chester but on a form line through Elusive Pimpernel (he was a two length fourth to him in the Acomb Stakes) he doesn't have much to find. Prompter fluffed his lines at Epsom last time out when beaten by Dreamspeed but any Epsom run can be forgiven, Rasmy should come on for his Newbury effort where he wasn't harangued after looking beaten, whilst Tamaathul's form at Newmarket has not been irrefutably franked by the winner. Azmeel can get back to winning ways.
