For the selection, we will side with Sapphire Dream, with her main dangers reckoned to be Throw The Dice, Katie Boo, Guildenstern, Cesar Manrique and Sentiero Rosso. First of all, we were thinking along the lines of supporting Sentiero Rosso, who ran a promising race on his seasonal return, his first since a gelding operation. First-time blinkers and the booking of Kieren Fallon gave further strength to the view and we might yet rue opposing him However, if you take literal formlines using Coleorton Dancer, then you can build a good case for Sapphire Dream beating him. We shall see. Throw The Dice is lightly-raced and appears open to improvement, while Katie Boo is reasonably weighted and has run well here in the past. Taking the view that a wide draw is disadvantageous here, then it is hard to fancy Premier Fantasy, Briannsta, Alpaga le Jomage - who seemed to improve in a first time eyeshield last time, although he did miss the break - and Peters Delite, who is also three pounds out of the weights. However, two that are drawn wide that we do like are the Barry Hills-trained Cesar Manrique, the form of whose seasonal return has worked out well, and Guildenstern, who is likeable and progressive and has overcome a wide draw in winning this season. They can both run well but, for the winner, we will stay with Sapphire Dream.
