In depth

Verdict

Corridor Creeper has been knocking at the door and is taken to gain due reward ahead of Lord Kintyre and Whistler, while Talbot Avenue should not be underestimated. Milton Bradley has his team in good trim at present and in Corridor Creeper and Whistler has two leading fancies here. The latter turns out quickly having shown up well for a long way behind Devise at Windsor three days ago in class E company. Although this is a grade higher, he has less weight to carry and can give a good account of himself, without being good enough to repel his stablemate Corridor Creeper. He was a course and distance scorer here last September and ran a race full of promise when second at Bath just over a fortnight ago. He ran even better when just touched off in a valuable race at Musselburgh four days ago, considering that he was badly drawn, and although four pounds higher than his latest success, must take all the beating from stall two. Lord Kintyre is half a stone better off with the selection on their Bath running but has not won for three years and is not as well drawn here, while Talbot Avenue is anchored with topweight but put in eye catching effort at Chester the time before last.
