Verdict

Recent winners Weqaar and Moonsprite look set for a battle royal, while Amanda Perrett's Darmagi will be fitter for his recent return to the fray, and it is Weqaar who gets the vote. The Dunlop family should have this sewn up between them but father John holds the ace card in Weqaar, a half-sister to Sakhee who earned black type when opening her account at Bath on her seasonal return. She is only small but has thrived since then and is taken to add to her tally on the way to a career in the paddocks. Her main rival Moonsprite acted well on the rain-softened ground at Beverley but will find conditions a lot faster here. A daughter of the Oaks winner Moonshell, she was entered for Epsom herself but has not proved good enough. She is however still in the Ribblesdale and a good effort here may see her line up at Royal Ascot. Darmagi caught a tartar at Goodwood in the shape of Itnab and will pay her way in class events but on this occasion will do well to stop Weqaar from scoring.
