In depth

Verdict

HEDGING is 8lb lower than when third over 7f here in August and 3lb lower than when last successful. He wasn’t beaten far at Brighton earlier this month and should strip fitter today. Sir Plato has plenty in his favour after a pipe-opener at Windsor while the maiden Woodcock took a step forward at Bath two weeks ago. Selecto is also seeking a first victory but he’s more exposed and has been racing over longer trips on ground much different to that he’ll encounter here.
