From a shortlist containing Outside Half, Severely, Cois Na Tine Eile and Sea Map, we will side with Severely. It is interesting that Barry Hills is stepping his charge up in trip today after a luckless run over 10 furlongs at Nottingham. However, he is a master of his craft and we will, once again, side with his judgement in giving this lightly-raced filly the nod. Outside Half certainly showed improvement when stepped up in trip last time and can do so again over an extra two furlongs. In a country where the words are revered, he might prove to be a popular choice. Cois Na Tine Eile has proven herself competitive from her current mark and the step up in trip might bring more, so she is respected, while Kayf Aramis looks an out-and-out stayer, a point that will serve him well today, and he's closely weighted with Figaro's Quest based on recent form. Sea Map finished five-and-half lengths ahead of that last-named horse over 12 furlongs at Folkestone on August 12th and has won on the all-weather since, but is five pounds worse off with his adversary now over this longer trip. However, he comes firmly into the reckoning. Finally, Silver Song looks pretty slow, although his mark now reflects that, while it is conceivable that Shaanbar and Silver Dreamer could improve at what is a new trip for them. Overall, tough, we will side with Severely.
