Verdict

Kilworth gets the call here ahead of Aamaaq and Le Colombier. Kilworth remains a decent maiden, but his good run when fifth in the Group 3 Solario Stakes at Sandown last time suggest that he will not have that tag for much longer. Aamaaq has shown more than enough in each start, including when finishing just a neck behind Kilworth on his debut, to suggest that a race of this nature is there for the taking, and he too can go well, while Le Colombier made eyecatching late headway when fourth at Sandown last time and is granted plenty of respect. Finally, Master At Arms was also noted making late gains at Leicester last time, so might make the frame, but Mick Channon's Cantabilly was cheaply acquired and is maybe not one of the stable's leading lights, and Cape Secret has something to like on breeding, but Richard Hannon's China Pearl has not shown much in two starts. All of which returns us to the selection, which is Kilworth.
