Desperate Dan comes out best on race conditions and can gain his first turf victory where Exit Strategy, Danzili Bay and Night Prospector look the best of the rest. Although 17 line up, the field can be whittled down quite quickly as quite a few have little chance on all known form. The favourite has got the burden of stall one to overcome pending on how he exits will determine what tactics are applied. He has proven himself a trail-blazer in the past but at the same time can miss the break. Fourth last time out at Brighton, he failed to get the run-of-the-race there and can put that right today. Exit Strategy drops down to 5 furlongs for the first time here. Fifth last time out in a lady riders' event, that form appears suspect although the stiff nature of the track will suit. Danzili Bay has some smart form in the book from three years ago but has been plagued by injuries since. Not disgraced last time at Redcar he is another with an each way chance while Night Prospector is 4lb worse off with Desperate Dan after their clash at Wolverhampton earlier this month. Desperate Dan is taken to overcome his poor draw and land the claimer.
