made all, drew clear 4f out easily
always behind, tailed off final 7f
always prominent, chased winner over 5f out, ridden over 4f out, no impression
pulled hard and held up, headway over 6f out, ridden and weakened over 3f
prominent until weakened 6f out
prominent until weakened 5f out
chased winner until over 5f out, hung left over 3f out, stayed on final furlong
pulled hard, stumbled and dropped rear after 2f, never a danger after
prominent, weakened quickly and pulled up over 6f out
held up mid-division, headway from 10f out, outpaced 5f out, rallied and stayed on from 2f out, no chance with winner
Woodlands Genpower has an absence to overcome, but can make a bold bid to win again, with Meggies Gamble, Stanway and Jaoka du Gord ones to keep an eye on. Woodlands Genpower caused something of a shock when beating one of today's rivals, Stanway at Newton Abbot in June. His stable are not renowned for bumper winners, but there was a lot to like about his performance, and despite the penalty giving Stanway a chance of turning the tables, we will stick with Woodlands Genpower. Meggies Gamble went well for a long way at Fontwell and is sure to have been well galloped by her trainer who does well in these events. So does Paul Webber, who runs both Jaoka du Gord and Touch The Tambour. The former may be best with Andrew Thornton in the plate. With the Nigel Twiston-Davies team in fine form, it would be folly to leave out Stage Friendly who could be anything, but with a win to his credit already, Woodlands Genpower should go close.
